Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization in the renewable energy industry to identify an experienced HR Manager. This role will oversee day-to-day human resources operations, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, compliance, onboarding, HR systems, payroll coordination, and HR administration.

This on-site position in Tempe, AZ, requires 7–10 years of HR experience, multi-state employment knowledge, and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist/Manager capacity.
  • Experience supporting blue-collar or operational workforces across multiple states.
  • Strong understanding of employment compliance, wage/hour, leave, ADA, and HR documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, transitions, and offboarding.
  • Support employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Administer benefits programs and assist with annual enrollment activities.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance across states.
  • Oversee HRIS and payroll-related processes; ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce needs and organizational initiatives.

Compensation:

$80,000–$90,000 annually, with potential flexibility up to $100,000 based on experience

This person should be proactive, solutions‑oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of HR operations in a fast‑moving environment.

Job Description:

The HR Manager will oversee day‑to‑day human resources operations while helping ensure the organization maintains effective policies, practices, and employee programs as it continues to grow.

This role will have broad responsibility across employee relations, benefits, compensation, compliance, onboarding, HR systems, payroll coordination, and general HR administration. The successful candidate will be someone who looks ahead, identifies potential issues before they become problems, and approaches challenges with sound judgment and practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day‑to‑day HR operations and provide support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, employee transitions, and offboarding activities.
  • Support employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, and discretion.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist with annual enrollment activities.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and employee information.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations across multiple states.
  • Support compensation administration, including salary structures and related HR processes.
  • Oversee HRIS and payroll‑related processes and ensure information remains accurate.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HR policies, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce needs, employee concerns, and organizational initiatives.
  • Identify potential employee or compliance issues proactively and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Provide HR guidance to employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Manager capacity.
  • Experience supporting blue‑collar or operational workforces with employees ranging from entry‑level through executive leadership.
  • Experience managing HR responsibilities across multiple states.
  • Strong understanding of employment compliance, including wage and hour requirements, leave administration, ADA considerations, and HR documentation.
  • Hands‑on experience with benefits and compensation administration.
  • Experience working with an HRIS and payroll system; Paycom experience is a plus.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive employee matters.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree is not required.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Target Start Date: Before the end of September
  • The interview process will include conversations with multiple members of the leadership team, followed by a brief problem‑solving and short‑answer assessment.
