Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting, including posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Build relationships with trade schools and workforce development organizations to support pipeline development.
- Employee Relations
- Serve as the second point of contact for team member concerns and conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations from start to finish and collaborate with outside legal counsel as needed.
- Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, OSHA, etc.).
- Maintain accurate team member records and reporting for audits and regulatory requirements.
- HR Policy Development & Administration
- Create, implement, and maintain team member handbooks, policies, and procedures tailored to construction industry standards.
- Conduct regular policy reviews and updates in collaboration with the Director.
- Benefits & Compensation
- Overhaul and lead administration of benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and leave of absence programs.
- Manage job classification, wage analysis, and merit increases with HR Support Team.
- Safety & Risk Management
- Partner with Safety and Operations teams to ensure compliance with jobsite safety protocols.
- Participate in incident investigations when HR involvement is required.
- Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate with Learning and Development for compliance training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a management role focusing on Compensation, Benefits, and Compliance.
- Experience in construction, trades, or field service industries highly preferred.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage and multi-state employment laws.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, ADP).
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be comfortable wearing PPE and visiting active construction sites.
