About the Role

Workspire is partnering with a rapidly growing, acquisition-driven manufacturing and infrastructure platform to identify an HR Manager based in Indiana.

This role will serve as the primary people partner for the Indiana operation, working closely with plant leadership, managers, and employees to support a safe, productive, and engaged workplace. The HR Manager will lead day-to-day site HR operations while helping build consistent, scalable practices across recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compliance, workforce planning, and employee communication.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who is comfortable moving between the plant floor and leadership conversations and brings sound judgment to a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
Plant HR Leadership & Employee Relations
  • Serve as the primary HR partner for plant leadership, managers, and employees at the Connersville site
  • Build trusted relationships across hourly and salaried teams through a visible, responsive presence in the operation
  • Advise and coach leaders on performance, attendance, corrective action, promotions, transfers, separations, and employee development
  • Lead workplace investigations and sensitive employee matters with fairness, discretion, and consistency
  • Maintain confidentiality and apply company policies consistently while balancing employee needs and business priorities
Recruiting & Workforce Planning
  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring, onboarding, and new-hire orientation for the site
  • Partner with plant leaders to anticipate headcount needs tied to production plans, growth, and workforce changes
  • Build practical talent pipelines through community partnerships, local schools, trade programs, referrals, and other sourcing channels
  • Strengthen candidate experience, hiring-manager communication, selection practices, and onboarding consistency across hourly, skilled-trades, and professional hiring
HR Operations, Benefits & Compensation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while supporting payroll administration, reporting, audits, and data integrity
  • Administer benefits, employee leaves, workplace accommodations, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims in partnership with internal and external resources
  • Coordinate with benefit providers, brokers, payroll partners, and other vendors to resolve issues and support employees
  • Support compensation reviews, internal equity analysis, job descriptions, employee changes, and annual compensation planning
  • Administer HR policies and ensure site practices align with applicable employment, wage-and-hour, leave, accommodation, and recordkeeping requirements
  • Track workforce metrics and HR trends, identify potential risks, and recommend practical improvements
Safety, Engagement & Organizational Support
  • Partner with operations on workplace safety, incident reviews, required recordkeeping, employee training, corrective actions, and emergency preparedness
  • Support compliance with OSHA requirements and help reinforce safe practices throughout the facility
  • Advance employee communication, engagement, recognition, retention, and leadership-development initiatives aligned with plant needs
  • Support organizational change, business growth, and integration activity with practical, people-centered solutions
  • Provide a visible HR presence throughout the facility and support occasional extended or off-shift needs when business circumstances require it
What We're Looking For
  • 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including hands-on HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Manager responsibilities
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish required, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages across written and verbal settings
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred, including experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, investigations, recruiting, performance management, benefits, employment compliance, and manager coaching
  • Familiarity with workplace safety, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers' compensation practices preferred
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, Microsoft Office, workforce data, and clear business reporting
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize competing needs, and follow through in a fast-paced plant environment
  • Strong judgment, integrity, communication skills, and the ability to build credibility with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
