A&A Safety, Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations across Ohio and nearby states.

This hands-on role focuses on benefits, safety, labor relations, recruiting, training, and compliance, with frequent site visits to Dayton, Cleveland, and Eastern Kentucky. You will partner with management and workers, ensure OSHA and DOT program adherence, manage union relations, and drive talent acquisition and employee development in a seasonal, field-heavy

Formación

• 7+ years progressive HR experience, including 3+ as an HR Manager or broad HR generalist.
• Hands-on experience across recruiting, employee relations, benefits, workers’ comp, unemployment, training, and compliance.
• Experience in construction, transportation, manufacturing, or another field‑based environment strongly preferred; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Workers’ comp & safety — claims from first report to resolution, return‑to‑work and light duty, OSHA recordkeeping, DOT testing programs.
• Unemployment — claims, employer responses, hearings, and appeals.
• Recruiting & onboarding — field, administrative, professional, and management hiring, from posting through the introductory period.
• Training — supervisor training, required compliance training, and training records for every employee.
• Compliance & employee relations — FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, employee handbook, investigations, coaching supervisors.
• Labor relations — daily contact with union locals, contract administration, grievances, and union fringe reporting with payroll.

A&A Safety Inc. is looking for someone who wants to run HR, not simply administer it.

A&A Safety is a family-owned specialty highway subcontractor — pavement marking, traffic control, removal, grooving, and barrier wall — serving work across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Our workforce is mostly field and shop employees, many of them union members, and our work is seasonal: hiring ramps up each spring and peaking May through September.

We need an experienced, hands‑on Human Resources Manager to manage our day‑to‑day HR function and be a trusted resource to employees, supervisors, and management.

What the Human Resources Manager owns:

• Benefits — enrollment, open enrollment, renewals, claims and carrier issues, 401(k) and HSA administration, and invoice reconciliation
• Workers’ comp & safety — claims from first report to resolution, return‑to‑work and light duty, OSHA recordkeeping support, and the Drug‑Free Workplace and DOT drug and alcohol testing programs
• Unemployment — claims, employer responses, hearings, and appeals
• Recruiting & onboarding — field, administrative, professional, and management hiring, from posting through a new hire’s introductory period
• Training — supervisor training, required compliance training, and training records for every employee
• Compliance & employee relations — FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, the employee handbook, investigations, and coaching supervisors on performance and discipline
• Labor relations — day‑to‑day contact with our union locals, contract administration, grievances, and union fringe reporting with payroll

Travel to our locations in Dayton and Cleveland, Ohio, and Eastern Kentucky is required at least monthly.

Preferred qualifications for the Human Resources Manager:

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ as an HR Manager or broad HR generalist
• Hands‑on experience across recruiting, employee relations, benefits, workers’ comp, unemployment, training, and compliance
• Experience in construction, transportation, manufacturing, or another field‑based environment strongly preferred
• A plus: SHRM‑CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR; union workforce experience; DOT testing programs; Viewpoint Vista
