Job summary

Arona Corporation is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support our family office and a portfolio of operating companies under Bernau Capital Partners.

The role partners with leadership to drive talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation administration, and organizational development across diverse businesses in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-entity, private equity, family office, or fast-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units preferred.

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations across multiple portfolio companies and affiliated entities.
  • Administer onboarding, offboarding, employee records, HRIS systems, and benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions across portfolio companies.
  • Partner with leadership teams to identify staffing needs and organizational priorities.
  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer letters, and onboarding processes.

Position Summary:

Arona Corporation is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support our family office and a portfolio of operating companies under Bernau Capital Partners. This role will serve as a strategic and operational HR partner across multiple businesses and industries, helping drive talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, compensation administration, and organizational development initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, business-minded, discreet, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment . This individual will work closely with human resource team to build scalable HR processes and foster strong workplace cultures across the portfolio.

_Key Responsibilities _:__
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations across multiple portfolio companies and affiliated entities.
  • Administer onboarding, offboarding, employee records, HRIS systems, and benefits enrollment.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions across portfolio companies.
  • Partner with leadership teams to identify staffing needs and organizational priorities.
  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer letters, and onboarding processes.
  • Assist in developing succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding compensation, ownership structures, and executive matters.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, I-9 verification, OSHA requirements, and employment regulations.
  • Assist with audits, workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and leave administration.
  • Assist in standardizing HR processes and best practices across portfolio companies.
  • Support integration efforts for newly acquired businesses.
  • Participate in special projects related to organizational growth, restructuring, and operational improvements.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3-7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-entity, private equity, family office, or fast-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Onsite in-office environment, Monday-Friday with working hours approximately 8am - 5pm.
    • A hybrid work schedule may be available once fully trained, with approval.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and speaking on the phone.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
