Job summary

BY Recruiting is partnering with an established company in the Sioux Falls area to hire an HR Generalist. This hands-on role covers recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, safety, and compliance, with broad ownership of the HR function.

You will support the full employee lifecycle, collaborate with leadership, ensure policy adherence, and drive improvements across HR programs. The position is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with salary range $65,000 to $80,000 and a mostly office-based environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience
• Solid understanding of HR concepts, practices, and procedures
• Strong judgment, discretion, and integrity
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; HRIS and payroll experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage recruiting from start to finish, including job postings, interviews, hiring decisions, and offers
• Lead new hire orientation and onboarding, plus ongoing HR training
• Handle employee relations with discretion, including performance, policy, and employee concerns
• Administer benefits, bonus, and rewards programs and communicate details to employees
• Oversee performance reviews, corrective action plans, and documentation
• Process bi-weekly payroll, conduct wage reviews, and support related reporting and audits
• Manage the offboarding process, including paperwork and exit interviews
• Investigate and report workers' comp, safety, and OSHA matters
• Maintain the HRIS, employee files, and employee handbook
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
