Job summary

IMC Metals America/ Ames Copper Group is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to support payroll, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. The role reports to the HR Supervisor and works with a collaborative team to grow the business.

Responsibilities include onboarding, I-9 and E-Verify, benefits communication, and performance management. The candidate should handle confidential data with discretion and be proficient with HR software and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years proven HR experience.
  • Extreme attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in HR software and tools for recruitment and management (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of employment laws (ADA, FMLA, EEO).
  • Ability to handle confidential data professionally.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all HR functions including payroll, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Handle employee inquiries and assist with investigations as needed.
  • Coordinate hiring process: job postings, interviews, assessments.
  • Coordinate New Hire Orientation and onboarding for compliance.
  • Complete I-9s and E-Verify timely.
  • Promote a positive, cohesive work environment through effective communication.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll using Paylocity; assist employees with login/adjustments.
  • Monitor employee morale and support engagement activities.
  • Assist with Employee of the Month and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate benefits programs (health, retirement, wellness).
  • Assist with career development and training programs.
  • Stay updated with labor laws and ensure compliance.
  • Support safety protocols and PPE coordination.
  • Serve as liaison for uniforms, security, and access control.
  • Provide visitor support and mail distribution.
  • Deliver HR initiatives and create progress reports.
  • Willing to work off-shift hours for production or projects.

IMC Metals America/ Ames Copper Group is seeking a motivated and driven Human Resources Generalist to aid and contribute to the overall success and growth of our organization. The HR Generalist will report to HR Supervisor and will be part of a great team that together will continue to help build and grow our business.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for assisting in all HR Functions, including payroll, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, discussing complex and/or sensitive matters with the HR Supervisor with the ability to partner in the investigation as needed.
  • Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and candidate assessments.
  • Coordinates in-person New Hire Orientation sessions and ensures the onboarding process is smooth, efficient and is compliant with employment laws.
  • Completes employment eligibility documentation, including I-9's and E-Verify in a timely manner.
  • Promote a positive & cohesive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Be the key payroll person to process bi-weekly Payroll using Paylocity and assist employees with login and adjustments.
  • Monitor and assist with employee morale and support employee engagement activities.
  • Assist with Employee of the Month
  • Assist with performance evaluation process.
  • Assist with communicating employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of career development and training programs.
  • Stay up to date with labor laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.
  • Assist with promoting and making sure Safety protocols are in place and adhered to.
  • Serve as the main liaison for uniforms, PPE vending, Security Guard communication, and Key Fob Administration.
  • Provide general support to Visitors, cleanliness of the breakrooms and distribution of the mail.
  • Special Projects: deliver HR initiatives through completion and create reports to track progress.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours as needed to support production, projects, or operational requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
