Job summary

Leapros, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support field and internal teams across the organization in Scottsdale, AZ.

You will partner with Talent Managers, Operations, Payroll, and leadership to manage employee relations, investigations, onboarding, benefits, leave management, and HR operations. You will independently handle routine HR matters, while escalating complex issues to HR leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3–5 years progressive HR Generalist experience preferred.
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, benefits, onboarding, compliance and HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal/state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to both field employees and internal team members, with a primary focus on supporting our field workforce across the organization. This role serves as a key partner to Talent Managers, Operations, Payroll, and business leaders by managing employee relations, investigations, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, compliance activities, employment verifications, unemployment claims, safety and workers' compensation support, and day-to-day HR operations.

The position is intended to provide dedicated HR ownership and support many employee-facing and compliance-related processes currently shared across Human Resources, Payroll, and Operations. The HR Generalist will ensure consistent application of company policies, deliver responsive support to employees and managers, mitigate employment-related risk, and help create a positive and compliant employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle. The role also provides HR partnership and employee relations support to internal corporate staff while contributing to the continued development and scalability of HR processes, programs, and infrastructure. This role is expected to independently manage routine HR matters while escalating higher risk or complex issues to HR leadership as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Field Employee Human Resources Support
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for field employees throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Support and administer employee onboarding and new hire documentation processes.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding company policies, procedures, and employment-related questions.
  • Respond to employee concerns and workplace issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Support performance management, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
  • Coordinate leave of absence requests, accommodations, and return-to-work activities.
  • Partner with Operations and Risk and Safety Manager regarding workplace injuries, workers' compensation claims, safety incidents, and incident investigations.
  • Assist in maintaining employee engagement and retention through proactive employee support and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Employee Relations & Investigations
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, harassment concerns, attendance issues, and other employee relations matters.
  • Gather documentation, conduct interviews, analyze findings, and make recommendations for appropriate action.
  • Partner with leadership to address performance concerns and employee conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of employee relations matters.
Internal/Corporate HR Support
  • Partner with Talent Managers to provide HR guidance and consultation.
  • Coach managers on employee relations issues, performance management, documentation practices, corrective actions, and employment law considerations.
  • Support employee retention and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations regarding employee relations risks and best practices.
  • Assist leaders in managing workplace conflict and employee concerns.
  • Provide employee relations support to internal corporate employees.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new internal team members.
  • Assist managers with performance management, employee development, coaching, and disciplinary issues.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives and company culture programs.
  • Support organizational changes and communication efforts.
Benefits, Leave Administration & Employee Programs
  • Administer employee benefits programs and serve as a resource for employee questions regarding eligibility, enrollment, and coverage for both field and internal benefits.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities and benefits communications.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers.
  • Coordinate leave administration including FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and related employee communications.
  • Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives.
Compliance, HR Operations & Workforce Administration
  • Manage employment verification requests (VOEs) and related employment documentation.
  • Administer unemployment claims, hearings, responses, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with HR compliance audits and employment record reviews.
  • Support I-9 compliance processes, employment authorization verification, virtual inspections, E-Verify administration, and special employment eligibility situations.
  • Maintain personnel files, HR records, and other employment-related documentation.
  • Support policy development, implementation, and communication efforts.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
Payroll, HRIS & Employee Data Administration
  • Support employee data entry, HRIS administration, employee record maintenance, and system setup activities.
  • Ensure employee data accuracy across HR and payroll systems.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and data integrity.
  • Provide support for HR reporting and workforce analytics.
Retirement & Benefits Administration
  • Coordinate and administer 401(k) plan activities, including employee support, vendor coordination, census reporting, and enrollment assistance.
  • Support benefits administration, employee enrollment activities, carrier communications, and issue resolution.
  • Assist employees with retirement and benefits-related questions.
  • Support annual benefits renewals and open enrollment processes.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvement initiatives, and departmental objectives.
  • Provide backup support for various HR, Payroll, and Operations functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, and HR operations.
  • HR experience working within staffing, construction, skilled trades, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and employee record management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Travel requirements: Domestically up to 25%.
