Job summary

Generational Care in Richland, WA is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on, end-to-end HR support onsite. You will serve as the HR point of contact for employees and supervisors on policies, benefits, and employment practices.

You will coordinate recruitment and onboarding, manage leaves, workers’ compensation, and safety initiatives, and maintain HRIS data. A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of HR experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent HR education and experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
  • Working knowledge across multiple HR disciplines including recruitment, benefits, leave administration, safety, compliance, and payroll.
  • Experience with HRIS or other employee information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and HR responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain HRIS data; troubleshoot system issues and assist with testing and implementations.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain HR procedures, workflows, forms, and training resources.
  • Own assigned projects from planning through implementation.

Job description

Generational Care is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on, end-to-end HR support onsite in Richland, WA.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an HR point of contact for employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, benefits, employment practices, and general HR questions
  • Handle employee relations needs including investigations, corrective actions, workplace concerns, documentation, follow-up, and policy guidance
  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding activities including candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, background checks, driving-record reviews, employment verification, and I-9 requirements
  • Coordinate and track leaves and accommodations, including FMLA, Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave, disability-related accommodations, and other applicable leave programs
  • Manage workers’ compensation and related workflows including claims coordination, return-to-work processes, workplace incident follow-up, safety initiatives, and unemployment claims
  • Support benefits and compensation administration including enrollment, eligibility, qualifying life events, Open Enrollment, audits, and reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; troubleshoot system and workflow issues and assist with testing, upgrades, and implementations
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports and data to identify trends, compliance concerns, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain HR procedures, workflows, forms, checklists, instructions, and training resources
  • Own assigned projects from research and planning through implementation and follow-through
  • Proactively identify issues, research solutions, and support HR audits, compliance projects, technology implementations, and other organizational initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent HR education and experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience
  • Working knowledge across multiple HR disciplines, potentially including recruitment and selection, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, unemployment, safety, HR compliance, compensation, payroll, and HR systems
  • Experience working with HRIS or other employee information systems
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, processes, or HR responsibilities
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills
  • Strong critical thinking, research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escape appropriately
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • High accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong working knowledge of Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other recognized HR certification
  • Experience working in healthcare, human services, nonprofit, or another highly regulated environment
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
  • Experience with HR reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and system implementation
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, not required)

Pay Range
