Job summary

Highlight Motor Group USA Inc. is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to support recruiting, onboarding, and compliance for drivers and transportation professionals in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage full-cycle recruitment, conduct interviews, extend offers, and coordinate background checks and onboarding while ensuring adherence to US federal/state laws (NJ and CA) and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in HR or related field.
• 2–5 years of recruiting and HR experience.
• Experience recruiting CDL drivers or transportation personnel preferred.
• Experience in trucking, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain is a plus.
• Knowledge of DOT hiring requirements and US state employment laws (NJ/CA).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR and full recruitment lifecycle for drivers, operators, warehouse staff, mechanics, dispatchers, and office staff.
• Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
• Conduct phone and in-person interviews and coordinate with hiring managers.
• Extend offers and negotiate compensation within guidelines.
• Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate background checks, drug/alcohol testing, and MVR reviews.
• Ensure applicants meet company safety and insurance requirements.
• Communicate HR policies, benefits, and expectations throughout the process.
• Maintain compliance with US state transportation and employment laws (NJ & CA).
• Assist with onboarding logistics and benefits enrollment.
• Maintain recruitment metrics and HR project support.

Job Description

We are seeking for a motivated and results-driven Human Resources Generalist to support the human resources aspect and recruitment/onboarding of qualified professional drivers and transportation professionals. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company hiring requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HR and full recruitment lifecycle for company drivers, owner-operators, warehouse employees, mechanics, dispatchers, and office staff.
• Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
• Conduct phone and in-person interviews.
• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
• Extend employment offers and negotiate compensation within company guidelines.
• Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
• Recruit qualified CDL Class A drivers in accordance with company hiring standards.
• Verify employment history and driving experience.
• Coordinate background checks, drug and alcohol testing, and motor vehicle record (MVR) reviews.
• Ensure applicants meet company safety and insurance requirements.
• Communicate company HR policies, benefits, compensation, and expectations throughout the hiring process.
• Maintain compliance with US state regulations for transportation and employment laws (NJ and California)
• Ensure confidentiality of employee and applicant information.
• Coordinate pre-employment requirements.
• Schedule and prepare orientation and onboarding for new hires.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment.
• Partner with operations and safety teams to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience.
• Maintain recruitment metrics and reports.
• Assist with HR projects and policy implementation.
• Perform other HR and recruiting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
