Position: HR Generalist

Location: New York, NY

Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a fast-paced, professional services environment. This role spans onboarding, benefits coordination, compliance, employee engagement, and performance support—with some involvement in recruiting. You’ll be a key resource to staff and leadership, helping maintain a positive and compliant workplace.

Talent Acquisition & Integration

  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires; manage offboarding procedures.
  • Support recruitment by posting roles, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.

Workforce Data & Operational Support

  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate HRIS data.
  • Manage employment verifications, I-9 compliance, and assist with streamlining internal processes.

Regulatory & Policy Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Assist with compliance filings (EEO, ACA) and support audit preparation.
  • Help maintain and update internal policies and documentation.

Benefits & Wellness

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communication.
  • Address routine benefit questions and liaise with vendors.
  • Help organize wellness and safety programs.

Employee Engagement & Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for staff regarding policies and general HR support.
  • Assist in resolving workplace concerns and escalating when necessary.

Performance & Development

  • Support the annual review process and maintain performance documentation.
  • Assist with tracking promotions, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience; law firm or professional services background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
