Tom Nehl Truck Co. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist in Jacksonville to join our HR team at 380 Edgewood Avenue S.

You will support employee relations, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and leave administration in a fast-paced, professional setting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of HR experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with discretion.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Experience supporting payroll, benefits, or compliance functions.
• Experience with HR reporting or HRIS data management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support HR team’s efforts to deliver comprehensive services to employees across relations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave, payroll, and administrative duties.
• Serve as a professional, discreet point of contact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, payroll and compliance activities.
• Respond to inquiries, document issues, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Support benefits administration and HR-led programs and events.
• Process forms and ensure accurate data entry in HR systems; prepare HR data and reports.
• Learn and utilize HRIS and reporting systems effectively.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with HR initiatives.
• Assist with special HR projects as assigned.

Tom Nehl, the undisputed best heavy-duty truck dealership in Northeast Florida and South Georgia, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

Position Responsibilities

• This position supports the HR team’s efforts to deliver comprehensive services to our employees. This position assists with various HR functions including employee relations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, leave administration (FMLA/ADA/LOA), payroll support, and administrative duties.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Serve as support for all functional areas of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, payroll, and compliance.
• Assist with employee relations by responding to inquiries, documenting issues, and escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Support benefits administration, including retirement plan and assisting employees with benefit-related questions.
• Facilitate and assist with HR-led programs and events such as New Hire Orientation, Wellness Programs, and Employee Appreciation events.
• Strong working knowledge of the laws and regulations governing leave administration (ADA, FMLA, and leave of absence program).
• Worker’s Compensation beginning with intakes, claim filings, carrier coordination, and case tracking; manages return-to-work and light duty processes and ensures multi-state compliance.
• Process forms and ensure accurate and timely data entry in HR systems.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain HR data and reports to support compliance, audits, and decision-making
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; ability to generate and interpret HR data.
• Ability to learn and utilize HRIS and reporting systems effectively.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend HR initiatives that enhance employee experience.
• Assist with special projects and other human resource initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources.

Experience supporting or assisting with employee relations, benefits, payroll, talent acquisition, or compliance functions.

Experience with HR reporting or HRIS data management preferred.
