Job summary

Tom Nehl Truck Co. is seeking an experienced diesel truck technician to join our service team in Waycross, GA. The role requires diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty trucks, using diagnostic software, and documenting service records.

Minimum two years’ experience and tools are required. CDL preferred and Freightliner/Volvo/CAT certifications are a plus. We offer a full benefits package and a stable, family‑owned work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a diesel truck technician.
• License and/or certification preferred or the willingness to acquire.
• Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
• Must provide own set of tools.
• Freightliner, Volvo, and CAT engine certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks utilizing diagnostic computer software.
• Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
• Troubleshoot drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel emission, brakes, steering, hydraulics, adjusting, and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
• Utilize repair orders to aid in the diagnosis and repair of heavy-duty trucks.
• Utilize software to create service records documenting the complaint, cause, and correction of vehicle issues.
