Job summary

Monin Gourmet Flavorings is seeking an HR Generalist to provide hands-on support across the employee lifecycle. You will partner with employees and leaders to foster a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace, blending HR administration with employee relations, benefits, leave, recruiting, onboarding, training, and supervisor guidance.

You will support policies, documentation, audits, and HR data while protecting confidentiality and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Admin, or equivalent.
  • SHRM or SPHR certification is highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR, employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers on policies, benefits, attendance, leave, and HR processes.
  • Support employee relations, investigations, and follow-up with HR leadership.
  • Coach managers on performance, communication, attendance, and corrective action.

About the Opportunity

As the HR Generalist at Monin, you will provide hands‑on support across the employee lifecycle while partnering with employees and leaders to help create a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace. This role combines day‑to‑day HR administration with employee relations, benefits, leave management, recruiting and onboarding, training, and guidance to supervisors and managers. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and supports HR initiatives that reflect Monin’s mission and values.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, attendance, leave, workplace concerns, and other HR processes.
  • Support employee relations matters, including gathering information, documenting concerns, assisting with investigations, and partnering with HR leadership and site management on appropriate follow-up.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on performance management, employee communication, attendance, and corrective action.
  • Ownership of employee onboarding, including pre‑employment processes, I-9 verification, orientation, and new‑hire integration.
  • Administer and support benefits, 401(k), leave management, workers’ compensation, and other employee programs; partner with vendors to resolve employee questions and issues.
  • Input, track, analyze, and communicate HR data and transactions, including time and attendance, overtime, leaves, and employee changes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation in HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, employee records, and other HR programs; identify discrepancies and support corrective action.
  • Maintain working knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements and help ensure consistent application of company policies and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with employees, managers, and the HR team to strengthen working relationships, support morale, and advance company and HR initiatives.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of employee training, communications, engagement activities, and other HR programs.
  • Identify trends and recurring employee or operational needs and partner with HR leadership to recommend practical solutions and process improvements.
  • Up to 20% travel.

Other Qualifications & Considerations
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • SHRM or SPHR certification is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficient in HRIS, payroll, employee benefits systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
