Job summary

Med-Mizer Inc. in Batesville, IN, seeks an onsite Human Resources Generalist to handle full-cycle HR duties across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance.

The role supports day-to-day HR operations on a four-day workweek (Mon-Thu) with flexible scheduling for day/night shifts. The position emphasizes building a positive workplace culture and aligning HR processes with manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, FMLA, workers' compensation, benefits administration, and employee relations practices.
  • Experience conducting interviews, investigations, and administering corrective-action processes.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience administering employer-sponsored health plans and HRIS proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full-cycle recruitment for hourly roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, pre-employment steps, offer preparation, and onboarding.
  • Lead new-hire orientations and manage relationships with temporary staffing agencies to support workforce needs.
  • Administer benefits programs, handling enrollments, qualifying life events, employee inquiries, leave administration, workers' compensation claims, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors on employee relations matters, facilitate conflict resolution, conduct investigations, and support corrective actions and separations.
  • Coordinate and oversee performance evaluations for hourly staff and assist supervisors with development initiatives.
  • Monitor attendance trends, maintain records, track incidents, and contribute to attendance-related initiatives.
  • Assist payroll processing and act as the designated backup for payroll administration.
  • Maintain HR files and compliance documentation, including I-9s, employment verifications, leave records, and OSHA logs as applicable.
  • Support policy administration, recognition programs, company events, and engagement initiatives that promote retention.
  • Enter employee status changes into HR systems and prepare reports to support HR and business objectives.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
