Job summary

Better Earth in Clarkston, Georgia is seeking a proactive Human Resources Generalist to support recruiting, employee lifecycle administration, benefits coordination, compliance, and engagement across multiple locations.

Reporting to the HR Director, this full-time, hybrid role requires three days onsite and two days remote; you will help manage onboarding, HR records in BambooHR, immigration documentation, and HR policy questions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role.
• Strong recruiting experience, including sourcing, screening, and working with hiring managers.
• Experience onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, and employee recordkeeping.
• Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS.
• Excellent communication and ability to maintain confidentiality.

About the Opportunity

The Human Resources Generalist will play an important role in supporting daily HR operations, with a strong emphasis on recruiting, employee lifecycle administration, benefits coordination, compliance, and employee engagement.

Reporting to the HR Director, the ideal candidate will bring hands‑on HR experience, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage routine HR responsibilities while providing responsive support to employees and hiring managers across multiple locations.

What You’ll Do

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

• Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and conducting initial interviews.
• Partner with hiring managers to coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and keep recruiting timelines on track.
• Manage candidate communications, applicant tracking, and recruitment documentation in BambooHR.
• Coordinate background checks, reference checks, and approved offer and onboarding materials.
• Help deliver a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

• Coordinate employee onboarding, offboarding, new-hire orientation, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records and administer authorized HR workflows within BambooHR.
• Respond to routine employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and systems.
• Support HR reporting, personnel file audits, documentation, and process improvements.
• Provide administrative support for employment-based immigration processes, including H-1B visa documentation, case tracking, and coordination with immigration counsel.

Benefits Administration & Compliance

• Support day‑to‑day administration of employee health, welfare, and retirement benefits.
• Coordinate with benefits brokers and retirement plan providers regarding employee enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefits communications.
• Assist with open enrollment, benefits orientation, and employee education initiatives.
• Support I-9 compliance, leave administration tracking, personnel records, and other HR compliance activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and help ensure timely follow-up on employee benefits inquiries.

Employee Relations & Engagement

• Provide first‑line guidance on routine employee questions and HR policies.
• Support performance review administration, training coordination, and policy acknowledgments.
• Assist with employee recognition programs, engagement activities, and internal HR communications.
• Help coordinate company events, employee celebrations, and workplace initiatives.
• Support onsite office coordination, including office supplies and employee amenities.

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 3–5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role.
• Demonstrated recruiting experience, including candidate sourcing, screening, and working directly with hiring managers.
• Working knowledge of employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, and employee recordkeeping.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
• Experience supporting employment‑based immigration processes, including H‑1B administration, is a plus.

Work Location & Schedule

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Clarkston, Georgia, requiring three days per week onsite and two days remote.

Occasional schedule flexibility may be needed to support employee onboarding, meetings, open enrollment, and other business priorities.
