Position Purpose

The Human Resources Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by managing employee concerns, promoting engagement, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. This role involves resolving conflicts by collaborating closely with management and the legal department to address organizational issues. The manager will serve as a mediator, advocate, and advisor, ensuring fair treatment for all. This is a standalone role requiring a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities.

Essential Functions
  • Employee Relations Management: Serve as the primary contact for employee concerns, mediate conflicts, provide guidance on policies, and train managers on employee relations practices.
  • Investigations & Documentation: Conduct investigations into complaints, document findings, and prepare reports with recommendations.
  • Compliance & Legal Risk Management: Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies, work with legal teams, and stay updated on employment law changes.
  • Employee Engagement & Communication: Promote a positive culture through feedback programs, surveys, and morale initiatives; develop and deliver training.
  • Labor Relations & Negotiation: Represent the organization in negotiations, collaborate on policy matters, and advise leadership.
  • Policy Interpretation & Guidance: Provide guidance on policies, assist in policy development, and ensure consistent implementation.
  • Performance Management Support: Advise on employee performance issues, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with discretion and tact.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Physical Demands
  • Sitting for extended periods, using a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are a plus.
Experience
  • 3-5 years in human resources, focusing on employee relations or HR generalist functions.
  • Experience handling employee complaints, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in labor relations and contract negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
