Job description

The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and advancing all aspects of the organization's workforce strategy, talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and organizational development initiatives. This role partners closely with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives and foster a high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of human capital programs and initiatives that support organizational growth and performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership in strategic planning discussions and contribute recommendations related to workforce development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain compensation and incentive programs that align employee performance with company objectives.
  • Coordinate with external compensation advisors regarding executive reward programs and long-term incentive strategies.
  • Develop workforce planning initiatives to attract, retain, and cultivate high-potential talent across all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends, labor market conditions, and employment practices to ensure the organization remains competitive.
  • Partner with senior leaders to support organizational goals and improve leadership effectiveness.
  • Oversee performance management programs, coaching managers on employee development, accountability, and corrective action processes.
  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for employment law matters and assist in coordinating with outside legal advisors when necessary.
  • Evaluate employee benefit offerings and recommend enhancements that support employee engagement and business needs.
  • Establish meaningful HR metrics, reporting tools, and workforce analytics to support data-driven decision making.
  • Manage relationships with benefit providers, brokers, and third-party partners associated with employee programs.
  • Advise managers and employees on workplace matters, fostering positive employee relations and a productive work environment.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for the HR team.
  • Direct employee wellness and well-being programs while promoting a healthy workplace culture.
  • Identify workforce capability gaps and implement succession planning and talent development strategies.
  • Oversee workplace safety initiatives, compliance programs, and risk-reduction efforts to maintain a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications
Education & Professional Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience working with HR systems, payroll platforms, collaboration tools, and digital communication technologies.
  • Advanced degree and professional HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent credentials are considered an asset.
Experience
  • Ten or more years of progressive human resources experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading HR functions within dynamic, fast-changing organizations.
  • Experience developing strategic initiatives while maintaining strong operational execution.
