Job summary

Bogen Communications LLC in Orlando, FL seeks a Human Resources Director to own the full spectrum of HR operations. This hands-on leader will manage employee relations, recruiting, benefits, payroll, policy development, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

Travel to three locations occasionally (Mahwah, NJ; Memphis, TN; Orlando, FL) is required. You will oversee HRIS, wage benchmarking, and policy communications to support a thriving workforce within a manufacturing/technology

Qualifications

  • Hands-on 15+ years as HR leader with strong business acumen.
  • 7+ years in health and welfare benefits management, including vendor contracts.
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience with direct sourcing and agency management.
  • Experience running payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and ability to design, implement, and update policies.
  • Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, technology, or communications industries a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding, transfers, promotions to terminations.
  • Lead recruitment practices including posting jobs, screening candidates, on-campus recruiting, negotiating rates, etc.
  • Direct management of employee relations (behavioral discussions, address concerns, coaching).
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and reporting requirements (ADA, EEOC, ERISA, 401k, discrimination, harassment, health and welfare, benefits, health and safety, OSHA, workers' comp).
  • Maintain accurate HRIS database and support employees usage of HR systems.
  • Track and share knowledge of current wages/rates in the marketplace.
  • Update and communicate HR policies to employees.
  • Other responsibilities including group hotel negotiations and reservations for large meetings/interviews, etc.
  • Lead Annual benefits enrollment and negotiate insurance contracts; payroll processing and benefits communications.

Bogen’s Engineered Systems line focuses on school intercom, signaling, and media control, maintaining significant U.S. market share and offering growth opportunities across multiple audio and communications segments.


Role Summary:

The Human Resources Director is the sole representative leading and owning the full spectrum of HR activities to support Bogen Communications’ workforce needs. This role manages HR policies, programs, and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable labor and employment laws while fostering a supportive culture. The Human Resources Director will be hands on from everything from employee relations, manager coaching, talent recruitment, benefits and payroll.


Responsibilities:

Human Resources


  • Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding, transfers, promotions to terminations

  • Manage in-house and external recruiting practices including posting jobs, screening candidates, on-campus recruiting, negotiating rates etc.

  • Direct management of employee relations (behavioral discussions, address concerns, coaching)

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations and reporting requirements (ADA, EEOC, ERISA, 401k, discrimination, harassment, health and welfare, benefits, health and safety, osha, worker's comp)

  • Maintain accurate HRIS database (wage/hour rates, personal information) and support employees usage of our systems

  • Track and share knowledge of current wages/rates in the marketplace

  • Updated and communicate HR policies to employees

  • Other responsibilities as needed including g roup hotel negotiations and reservations for large meetings/interviews, etc


Total Rewards Management


  • Lead Annual benefits enrollment (medical, dental, vision, fsa, 401k, gtl, voluntary life and disability plans)

  • Negotiate annual contracts with insurance companies

  • Explain/assist employees with benefits; provide strong advocacy to vendors on employee’s behalf

  • Develop ongoing communications promoting knowledge of benefits programs

  • Process payroll processing including biweekly payroll and special payrolls (ex catch up, bonuses, etc)and ensure all wages, deductions and tax rates are accurate and current

  • Leased vehicle/fleet management


Other


  • Occasional travel is required to three locations (Mahwah, NJ, Memphis, TN, Orlando, FL)


Qualifications


  • Hand's on, 15 years+ experienced Human Resource professional leader with strong business acumen and HR operations.

  • Must have 7+ years of experience of comprehensive health and welfare benefits management experience, including direct vendor management and contract negotiation

  • 3+ years of recruiting experience with direct sourcing candidates and managing third-party agencies

  • Experience running payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees

  • Strong knowledge of HR Policies and the ability to design, implement, and update policies that support organizational objectives.

  • Proficiency in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, and engagement initiatives that promote a positive work environment.

  • Strong HR systems experience, including administering and configuring HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Experience with compensation planning including commission plans

  • Solid understanding of Employment Law, with a track record of maintaining compliance across jurisdictions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in required. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Proficient use of Excel including pivot tables and formulas

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) is preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing, technology, or communications-related industries is a plus.
