Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to support HR functions, onboarding, and employee relations in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the HR Manager, corporate HR staff, and plant leadership to ensure smooth HR operations.

The role covers recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, policy implementation, and compliance with employment laws, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy across HRIS and payroll data.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
  • Highly motivated, service and team-oriented with attention to detail.
  • Ability to present information to top management and groups.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of personal employee information and company records in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Administer transfers, leave of absence, change of status and employee information.
  • Collect new hire information for payroll and enter data into HRIS and Timekeeping systems.
  • File documents related to personnel, medical, and workers' compensation files.
  • Manage contract job bidding procedures, including postings, shift preferences, and start times changes.
  • Assist employees and agencies with employment and wage verification forms and questions.
  • Communicate with employees about issues, questions, and concerns; post notices across the plant.
  • Answer incoming HR department calls and direct to the appropriate person.
  • Administer employee benefits, including Health Insurance, 401K/RRSP/Pension, Life Insurance, Vacation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Summary

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager, Corporate Human Resources staff, and plant supervisors and managers. The Human Resource Coordinator has responsibility for non-exempt recruiting and onboarding. The Human Resource Coordinator works to ensure positive employee relations, and is also involved in training, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law.

Job Duties
  • Maintain the confidentiality of personal employee information, company information, records, and related issues in accordance with all the applicable laws.
  • Administration of all employee transfers, leave of absence, change of status and change of employee information.
  • Collection of new hire information for payroll, entering information into the HRIS system and the Timekeeping system.
  • Filing of documents pertaining to employee personnel files, medical files, and work compensation files.
  • Responsible for all contract job bidding procedures, including job bid postings, shift preferences, changes in shift start times.
  • Answering and assisting employees and agencies with employment and wage verification forms and questions.
  • Communication with employees about any issues, questions, and concerns. As well, as posting notice of all communication throughout the plant.
  • Answering all incoming calls for the Human Resources Department and directing employees, vendors, and public to the appropriate person or answering questions if possible.
  • Administration of all employee benefits, including: Health Insurance, 401K/RRSP/Pension, Company Life Insurance, Vacation.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Four year College Degree preferred
  • Five years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively
  • Basic Mathematical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and associates.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
