This position often serves as the initial point of contact for employees across campus. The HR Coordinator assists all new employees with completing onboarding paperwork, signing up for new employee orientation, and answering basic benefits and payroll questions. This position also responds to internal and external HR requests and directs calls and emails to the appropriate HR team. This position is full‑time on‑site, with no remote options.
This is a classified, overtime‑subject position and includes full participation in our employee benefits, tuition, and leave accrual programs.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR an Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience.
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Contributes to a culture of environmental stewardship, practices resource conservation, and actively works toward achieving long‑term sustainability goals.
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting hourly rate for this position will $19.36 – $21.91 an hour but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
