Job summary

AMERI-CANS in Newark, OH is seeking a full-time, on-site HR Coordinator to support its Ohio operations with a focus on recruiting and day-to-day HR administration.

You will coordinate recruiting, build candidate pipelines, screen applicants, manage interviews, assist with onboarding, and maintain HR records while ensuring compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience.

Job description

AMERI-CANS is hiring a full-time, on-site HR Coordinator to support its Ohio operations in Newark, with an emphasis on recruiting and day-to-day HR administration.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the recruiting process from job posting through onboarding.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and upcoming staffing needs.
  • Source candidates through job boards, professional networks, social media, employee referrals, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review resumes and applications and complete initial candidate screenings.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Support hiring managers with candidate selection and hiring decisions.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with pre-employment processes as applicable.
  • Prepare and extend offers and coordinate new-hire onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and track candidate activity and hiring metrics.
  • Assist with strategies to attract qualified candidates for difficult-to-fill roles.
  • Attend local, regional, college, trade school, and industry job fairs and career events to promote open roles and employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate job fair participation logistics, including registration, scheduling, materials, promotional items, and event coordination.
  • Assist with developing and distributing recruiting materials such as flyers, signage, and other promotional content.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Support new-hire orientation and required employment documentation.
  • Process employee status changes including transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Respond to routine HR questions and requests from employees and managers.
  • Maintain HRIS records and ensure employee information stays accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare HR reports, correspondence, and other related documentation as needed.
  • Assist with employment verification and other routine HR administration.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding general HR policies, procedures, and workplace questions.
  • Support management with employee relations matters and help ensure consistent policy application.
  • Assist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up on employee concerns as directed.
  • Help communicate company policies, procedures, and HR updates to employees.
  • Assist with compliance with applicable federal and Ohio employment laws and regulations.
  • Support required employment documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and general benefits questions.
  • Coordinate required training, certifications, and employee development activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and respectful workplace environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
  • Experience sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Working knowledge of general HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and other HR technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work full-time and on-site in Ohio.

Position Details

  • Job type: Full-time
  • Work schedule: Primary Mon-Fri, 6AM – 3PM (may vary based on operational needs)
  • Pay: $55,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similarly fast-paced work environments.
  • Experience recruiting for hourly, skilled-trade, technical, or high-volume positions.
  • Knowledge of Ohio employment practices and applicable federal employment requirements.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (ADP).
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods; move fingers and hands; stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Background check consent as part of the pre-employment process.
