  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, documents, and HRIS data
  • Own and maintain onboarding and offboarding checklists and logistics

  • Administer and audit bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Coordinate payroll with Finance to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
  • Support open enrollment, benefits questions, and leave-of-absence tracking
  • Assist with employee reimbursements, tax forms, and time-off policies
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, including wage notices, mandated training, and record-keeping
  • Monitor deadlines for compliance-related tasks (e.g., harassment training, handbook acknowledgment)
  • Support internal audits and prepare documents for legal or external review
  • Maintain HR calendars and dashboards for compliance and reporting
  • Be a go-to resource for employees regarding policies, procedures, and systems
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities (welcome gifts, birthdays, HR comms)
  • Help gather and analyze feedback on onboarding and workplace experience
  • Support internal communications related to HR policies and updates

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of HR, administrative, or operations experience
  • Familiarity with HR tools (HRIS, payroll, onboarding platforms, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of CA labor laws or a strong desire to learn
