The Human Resource Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department. The HR Coordinator should display organizational skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Required Qualifications
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Prepares new-employee files.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system ( HRIS ), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Workday experience preferred but not required. Experience working in an Human Resources office or busy office setting.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
