A leading engineering firm is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support the People & Culture team. This role involves overseeing employee onboarding, providing employee support, and collaborating on department initiatives, offering a great opportunity for career development in an innovative environment.
We are supporting a confidential search for a Human Resources Coordinator with a PE-backed, environmentally-minded, civil and architectural engineering firm in the midst of a transformative phase. This is a chance to help innovate the HR function at a forward-thinking company with about 450 US employees.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key administrative role, supporting the daily operations and initiatives of the People & Culture team. This position also provides employee support as needed. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Coordinator collaborates with the Director and the broader People & Culture team to develop and implement department-led corporate initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
• Oversees employee onboarding and offboarding process.
• Provides consistent support and assistance to employees.
• Inputs changes and employee information accurately into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
• Facilitates proper employee documentation and accurate records in the HRIS.
• Assists with leave management administration.
• Manages HR email inbox and partners with Payroll & Benefits Specialist to ensure accurate data in our Benefits Admin portal
• Provides Finance, IT, People & Culture, and other service lines, with ad hoc reports.
• Sends out daily and monthly employee update communications.
• Manages monthly staff counts and reporting.
• Ability to exercise sound reasoning, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
• Lead by example and in accordance with the company's Core Values and desired culture.
• All other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the team
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred
• 0-2 years of related experience, preferably in Human Resources.
• Excellent writing, editing, technical and organizational skills along with the ability to problem solve.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and also thrive in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and more.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and adequate insurance. Travel for work may be required, periodically. Company vehicles may be available for business use; otherwise, mileage reimbursement is provided for personal vehicle use when traveling outside of office locations.
• Availability to work outside core business hours. Overtime may be a requirement of the position. • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
