Base pay range

$54,704.00/yr - $68,379.00/yr

The Addison Public Library is seeking an experienced, human resources professional to guide and support our most valuable resource: our employees.

This is a full-time, exempt position with a standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

$54,704 – 82,055/annually, DOQ; $68,379 is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

What You Need To Be Successful

  • Skills to foster a positive, diverse and inclusive workplace culture which enables all employees to be exceptional and maximize their contribution
  • Experience with HRIS systems, applicant tracking, and benefits administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and HR regulations, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and Workers’ Compensation
  • Effective, enthusiastic and respectful communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and train others on new technologies

What You Will Do

  • Design and lead recruitment, hiring, and retention strategies to attract and retain high-quality staff.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs and regularly evaluate them for competitiveness and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office on payroll processing.
  • Provide employees with information on topics related to HR and benefits.
  • Manage the performance evaluation process and support supervisors in performance-related matters.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
  • Review policies and procedures and recommend best practices to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of personnel records.
  • Contribute to a culture of integrity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Certification in HR preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in human resources is required, preferably in a public sector or not-for-profit environment.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required
  • Access to transportation required.
