Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner I partners with leaders to deliver business results and actively foster a positive and employee-friendly environment. The Human Resources Business Partner I drives the implementation of various HR programs including employee communications, staffing, benefits, training, employee relations, performance management, and safety. The Human Resources Business Partner I ensures consistent application and documentation of policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions*

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee requests and questions regarding HR and Payroll.
  • Administer company policies and follow up on compliance.
  • Assist in employee relations investigations and HR internal audits.
  • Escalate employee relations matters to Senior HRBP and HR Director as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain employee, I-9, and other file systems.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and submit new hire paperwork and coordinate system activations.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; agency engagement and candidate communications.
  • Monitor agency performance to ensure the fulfillment of temporary daily open positions.
  • Administer exit process and complete termination paperwork and system deactivations.
  • Work with HRIS team and payroll to reconcile pay errors and time clock issues.
  • Coordinate employee benefits including enrollments, terminations, and changes.
  • Monitor compliance of various HR-related issues (OSHA, Federal Postings, etc.); maintain OSHA log.
  • Prepare and submit safety and accident reports to Safety Director following safety reporting procedures.

Education & Experience

  • BS/BA in HR or related field preferred, or 0-3 years' experience.

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills across multiple methods and employee levels.
  • Able to self-prioritize competing responsibilities and programs.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
