Job summary

Chimes is seeking an HR professional to partner with managers on performance management, employee relations, and HR policy guidance. The role supports onboarding, I-9s, unemployment matters, and HR initiatives in a hybrid work setting.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in HR and at least two years of HR experience, with strong communication, discretion, and organizational skills to drive employee success and policy adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience.
  • Experience coaching managers on performance and corrective action.
  • Experience conducting Employee Relations investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on performance management, corrective action and employee concerns.
  • Guide employees and leaders on HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage Employee Relations investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct workplace investigations into misconduct and concerns.
  • Administer appeal and grievance processes with recommendations.
  • Support New Employee Orientation and Form I-9 completion.
  • Address unemployment matters and participate in hearings as needed.
  • Respond to employee questions and connect employees with resources.
  • Support HR initiatives, development, recruitment events and recognition programs.

Salary Range: $70,000–$72,500, commensurate with experience
Work Type: Hybrid – in-office and virtual

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, employee concerns, and other workplace matters .
  • Provide employees and leaders with guidance on HR policies, procedures, and their appropriate application .
  • Manage and address Employee Relations matters , including disciplinary actions and employment terminations, under HR leadership.
  • Conduct objective workplace investigations involving employee misconduct and other concerns.
  • Administer employee appeal and grievance processes and provide recommendations for appropriate personnel actions.
  • Support New Employee Orientation and employment documentation, including Form I-9 completion .
  • Address unemployment matters and participate in unemployment hearings as needed.
  • Respond to employee questions and connect employees with appropriate resources.
  • Support employee development, recognition, career development, recruiting events, and other HR initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant Human Resources experience .
  • Coaching and advising managers on employee performance and corrective action .
  • Conducting Employee Relations investigations .
  • Interpreting HR policies and advising both employees and managers on their application.
  • Conducting exit interviews and using employee feedback to identify trends or opportunities for organizational improvement.
  • Maintaining, updating, or contributing to employee handbooks, HR policies, or procedures .
What Will Help You Succeed
  • Current knowledge of federal and state employment laws , HR practices, policies, regulations, and applicable standards.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with HRIS and talent management systems, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
