Job summary

viaPhoton in Naperville, IL is seeking an HR Business Partner to support the manufacturing team across compliance, culture, and employee relations. You will partner with frontline leaders to ensure fair, legally compliant outcomes and a smooth operation on the floor.

The role handles payroll and benefits administration, manages investigations and separations, and leads 90-day reviews with managers. Onsite schedule, withHealth, 401(k), PTO, holidays, and team events offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is preferred.
• 2+ years in HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or generalist HR.
• Experience administering payroll and benefits.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, ADA, and EEO.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee relations, including complaints, investigations, and corrective discipline.
• Conduct exit interviews, process separations, and identify retention trends.
• Support open enrollment and benefits administration.
• Review and complete payroll runs with finance support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including OSHA.
• Administer leave programs such as FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and ADA accommodations.
• Partner with managers on 90-day reviews and performance coaching.
• Conduct required training and serve as bilingual floor contact.

About the Role

You'll be the trusted HR resource for our manufacturing team, supporting everything from compliance to culture. Working closely with frontline leaders, you'll build relationships across the floor and make sure our facility operates with both excellence and fairness.

• Manage employee relations, including complaints, investigations, and corrective discipline with fair, consistent, legally compliant outcomes
• Conduct exit interviews, process separations, and identify trends to inform retention strategies
• Support open enrollment and benefits administration
• Review and complete payroll runs with the support of finance
• Make sure the facility stays compliant with federal, state, and local employment law, including OSHA recordkeeping and workplace safety standards
• Administer and support leave programs including FMLA, Workers Compensation, and ADA accommodations
• Partner with managers on 90-day reviews, performance management coaching, and documentation
• Facilitate required training (harassment prevention, forklift certification) and serve as a bilingual point of contact on the floor

What You'll Bring

• Have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (a plus, but not required)
• Have 2+ years in an HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or generalist HR role, preferably in manufacturing or distribution
• Experience administering and processing both payroll and benefits
• Are bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Know employment law and HR compliance including OSHA, FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA, and EEO
• Have conducted workplace investigations and handled separations with discretion
• Are organized with careful attention to detail and can manage multiple priorities at once

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 base, plus annual bonus
