As a full-service liquid products supplier and strategic partner to the food and beverage industry, Baldwin Richardson Foods combines its formulation expertise and unique packaging options with robust processing capabilities to produce high-quality sauces, toppings, syrups, fillings, and shelf-stable beverages for the world's most iconic Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs), Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands, and food service companies. Its state-of-the-art Innovation & Culinary Center transforms trends and culinary inspiration into legendary products through an award-winning commercialization process. The company also manufactures and markets Mrs. Richardson's dessert sauces and Nance's mustards/condiments, in addition to producing finished goods for the private label sector. BRF maintains its headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macedon, New York; with a Culinary Innovation Center in Westmont, Illinois; and offices and manufacturing facilities in Williamson, New York; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Corona, California. This role will be out of Williamson, NY.

WHAT WE NEED: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a business partner and subject matter expert in employee relations, supporting the Plant Manager level and below within the Operations organization. The role is responsible for driving HR best practices, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, values, and culture, as well as with State and Federal laws. The HRBP will develop partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added consultation and services to management and employees that align with business objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Employee Relations & Engagement 60%

  • Engage proactively at all levels to support a 24/7, multi-plant operation. Support may include off-hours activities such as investigations, events, and employee engagement initiatives (e.g., communication meetings, AMAs, celebrations).
  • Maintain awareness of organizational culture and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with leaders to implement HR strategies that support business goals and success.
  • Build and maintain credible relationships with leaders and employees to ensure trusted HR support.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of complex HR issues, including witness interviews, reviewing video footage, and documenting findings in confidential tools (e.g., AllVoices).
  • Propose corrective actions based on investigation outcomes. Assist leaders with disciplinary documentation or termination recommendations as necessary.
  • Provide coaching to plant leaders on employee relations responsibilities, including disciplinary and termination discussions.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees.
  • Advise organizational leaders on HR decisions to ensure policy, values, and legal compliance.
  • Partner with other HR functions to resolve issues comprehensively.
  • Respond promptly to employee and manager inquiries.
  • Promote positive employee engagement through collaboration and strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize employee engagement surveys to identify improvement opportunities and work with leaders to implement strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience proactively.

Performance Management & Talent Development 25%

  • Partner with leaders on employee discipline, performance management, and development plans. Provide guidance on best practices.
  • Establish and monitor onboarding and provisional progress, ensuring completion.
  • Coach, manage, and oversee employee performance counseling and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist with the annual performance review process by training managers and ensuring timely completion of ratings and reviews.

Workforce Planning/Development 10%

  • Collaborate with Plant Leadership on organization design and workforce strategy, including temporary labor use.
  • Participate in candidate evaluation and selection processes with Talent Acquisition, focusing on alignment with BRF CARE values.

Other 5%

  • Coordinate with other HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Payroll, and HR Analytics.
  • Provide backup support for team members during absences.
  • Supervise the Administrative Assistant.
  • Manage employee performance through clear responsibilities, feedback, and addressing issues promptly.
  • Foster an effective learning environment through coaching and feedback.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of HR generalist experience with a focus on employee relations.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or related environments (multiple shifts and locations) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state legal requirements.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred.
