Job summary

Amerilux International is seeking an HR Generalist/Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting for CDL-A drivers and logistics office roles. The role supports HR partners, Safety, and operations, ensuring compliant hiring processes and robust pipelines across multiple sites.

The role requires 3+ years in HR or recruiting within logistics, strong FMCSA/DOT knowledge, and experience with high-volume ATS workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in HR generalist, HRBP or recruiting roles with at least 2 years in Logistics/Transportation recruiting
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT driver hiring requirements: driver qualification files, MVR and PSP reviews, drug and alcohol testing, medical cards
• Experience with an applicant tracking system and high-volume pipeline management
• Solid grasp of employment law basics

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for CDL-A drivers and Logistics/Transportation office roles from intake to offer
• Build and run the driver pipeline: ads, job boards, referrals, events and school partnerships
• Screen applicants against minimum qualifications before handoff to Safety
• Coordinate hiring steps with Safety: verifications, road tests, drug screen and medical card
• Recruit and screen for all Logistics and Warehousing needs, regardless of level
• Serve as first-line HR for managers on day-to-day questions
• Coach managers on performance, corrective action and documentation
• Own driver recognition and events, plus onsite and offsite culture activities
• Run annual review process and WSLL management for AL & AT
• Own employee changes, onboarding/offboarding, and personnel files
• Spot trends (turnover by terminal/lane, absenteeism, safety events) and advise leadership

Recruiting

• Own full-cycle recruiting for CDL-A drivers and Logistics and Transportation office roles, from intake of initial application through accepted offer
• Build and run the driver pipeline: recruiting ads, driver job boards, referral program, driver hiring events and school partnerships
• Screen driver applicants against minimum qualifications (experience, MVR, PSP, accident and violation history) before handoff to Safety
• Coordinate driver hiring steps with Safety: applications, previous employer verifications, road tests, DOT drug screen and medical card
• Recruit and screen for all Logistics and Warehousing needs, regardless of position level

HR partnering

• Serve as first-line HR for AL & AT managers, dispatchers, team leads, and team members on all day to day questions
• Coach managers on performance, corrective action and documentation; own employee performance and behavior conversations for AL & AT, including performance plans and warnings.
• Own driver recognition and events, plus onsite and offsite activities for AL & plant culture
• Run the annual review process and WSLL management for AL & AT
• Own employee changes, onboarding paperwork, offboarding, system removal and personnel files for AL & AT
• Spot people trends (turnover by terminal or lane, absenteeism, safety events) and bring recommendations to leadership

Compliance and support

• Support Safety on DOT/FMCSA compliance; Safety owns driver qualification files, this role makes sure hiring steps feed them cleanly
• Support Payroll with new team member pay setup and pay plan questions
• Support on escalated issues, complex claims, investigations and terminations
• Support staff with workers' comp claims, policy rollout and audits
• Support staff with FMLA and PTO paperwork and tracking
• Support leadership training and AU, culture pulse surveys and company meetings

Required

• 3+ years in HR generalist, HRBP or recruiting roles, with at least 2 years recruiting in the Logistics and Transportation space
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT driver hiring requirements: driver qualification files, MVR and PSP reviews, drug and alcohol testing, medical cards
• Experience with an applicant tracking system and high-volume pipeline management
• Solid grasp of employment law basics

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with driver job boards, Tenstreet or similar driver recruiting platforms
• Background in a multi-state, multi-entity employer
• Experience building retention programs off stay and exit interview data
