Job summary

New Horizons Baking Company in Columbus, OH is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Business Partner to lead HR functions with a focus on hourly recruiting, onboarding, and union-related matters.

You will report to the Director of Human Resources, partner with production and other departments, and drive programs to foster a positive, inclusive culture while staying compliant with labor laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business admin, or related field.
  • 2-5 years HR experience.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • SHRM and/or PHR certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite with Teams.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for hourly team members.
  • Coordinate and execute employee relations events and meetings.
  • Maintain HRIS (Paycor) integrity and input employment changes.
  • Advise managers on disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Address workplace issues and promote a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement HR strategies.
  • Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 (based on experience)

Location: 2955 Charter Street

Hours: Onsite 8am-5pm Monday-Friday (Work from home 1 day a week)

Position Overview:

New Horizons Baking Company is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to lead and facilitate the development of a positive and inclusive work environment. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing HR functions, with a specific emphasis on union-related matters, recruitment, and onboarding processes for hourly team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with various company departments, including Shipping, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and the corporate office.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Maintains HRIS(Paycor) integrity by tracking and inputting employment changes.
  • Drives communication of HR initiatives within the plant.
  • Coordinates and executes employee relations events, appreciation recognition, and meetings as needed.
  • Flexibility to work off-shifts for training, meetings, and open enrollments.
  • Address and resolve grievances promptly and fairly.
  • Facilitate transparent and equitable job bidding processes.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for hourly team members, from sourcing to onboarding.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and formulate effective recruitment strategies.
  • Provide ongoing support to new employees, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and resource for all employees on HR-related matters.
  • Proactively identify and address workplace issues, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations, ensuring company-wide compliance.
  • Coaches, counsels, and guides managers in disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Conducts recruiting activities, including attending job fairs, managing background checks, and facilitating new hire orientations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • People-centric mindset with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
  • Preferably holds a SHRM and/or Phr certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with experience using Teams.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
