Office of Chief Medical Examiner seeks a Human Resources Associate for Workforce Operations to support recruitment, onboarding, tracking, and professional development. You will handle HR metrics, postings, candidate qualification reviews, and onboarding coordination with DOHMH and other agencies.
DNA sample collection and agency driver duties may apply for selected candidates. The role requires an associate degree in secretarial science or related field, strong typing, and experience with HRIS
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.

Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources Operations, and specifically under the supervision of the Supervisor of HR Workforce Operations, formerly HR Talent Management, the selected candidate will provide recruitment, onboarding, tracking, and professional development support. As a Human Resources Associate for Workforce Operations, the selected candidate will receive training and assist in the performance of the duties specified below:
This position has been identified as “essential.” During emergency events, “essential” positions may require 24-hour availability.
The selected candidate will be required to provide a DNA sample by swabbing.

Ability to type at a minimum rate of 55 words per minute. For assignments requiring stenographic skills, candidates must also have the ability to take legal dictation. For certain assignments, individuals may be required to have higher typing and stenographic skills.
