JOB DESCRIPTION
The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) seeks a Graduate Medical Education Program Specialist to support the administration, accreditation and coordination of the agency’s graduate medical education fellowship programs, including its ACGME accredited Forensic Pathology and Selective Pathology fellowship programs in Forensic Neuropathology and Cardiovascular Pathology. This is a per-diem position with an anticipated average commitment of approximately 20 hours per week.
OCME’s fellowship programs provide advanced subspecialty training to physicians pursuing careers in forensic medicine. The Graduate Medical Education Program Specialist will provide dedicated administrative and accreditation support across OCME’s fellowship programs, with a particular focus on maintaining compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements and supporting the continued development of OCME’s graduate medical education programs.
The Graduate Medical Education Program Specialist will report directly to OCME’s Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and receive programmatic direction from the Associate Program Directors. The position will work closely with the Associate Program Directors, Program Coordinator, fellows, faculty and other OCME staff to support program administration and ensure accreditation requirements, documentation and deadlines are effectively managed. Work hours will vary throughout the academic year based on program activities, accreditation requirements, recruitment cycles, meetings and other fellowship needs. The successful candidate should be highly organized and detail oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex academic and operational environment.
