Job description

Join to apply for the Human Resources Assistant (PT) role at Passaic County Community College.

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to perform a range of office duties with attention to detail and customer service skills, supporting the Office of Human Resources in providing excellent service to employees and the public.

This is an entry-level, part-time, hourly position.

Example of Duties
  1. Welcome and assist visitors to the Office of Human Resources.
  2. Assist with onboarding new hires, ensuring completion of required documents, including the I-9 verification.
  3. Create and maintain accurate electronic records and reports using various software applications.
  4. Respond to telephone and electronic inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, referring complex matters as needed.
  5. Support benefit enrollments and updates.
  6. Assist HR staff with tasks such as filing, copying, letter writing, and scheduling.
  7. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or four years of relevant work experience.
  • At least two years of office experience, preferably in HR.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of HR principles is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

A background check is required for the selected candidate.

Compensation

Minimum hourly pay is $20, based on experience and qualifications.
