Description

Purchase College, SUNY , is seeking an individual to join the Office of Disability Resources team and serve as a Learning Specialist of Cornerstone Connect, a service for students seeking executive functioning support. Cornerstone Connect will offer enrollment to students needing support to enhance their learning experience, regardless of a disability/diagnosis. Upon acceptance to the program, students will be provided with the opportunity to engage in a number of program components, including 1:1 individualized coaching. While engaging in coaching, students will work with a trained learning specialist to articulate 2-3 goals in areas of interest or need as they pertain to academic, personal, and/or career preparation. The Learning Specialist reports to the Assistant Director of the Office of Disability Resources, within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Qualifications

Required Education/Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Disability Services, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Special Education, School Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field required.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with disability inclusion in higher education or related experience with mental health disabilities, preferably in a college or university setting; knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to persons with disabilities.
• Strong attention to detail, proven experience managing complex assignments and meeting required deadlines.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
