Job summary

Air Mobility Command is seeking a detail-oriented civilian employee to perform routine clerical tasks in support of the Customer Service Program and military personnel operations. The role requires knowledge of military regulations and solid administrative skills as outlined in the OPM standards.

Applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience or equivalent education per GS-0203 standards, with transcripts provided as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to Customer Service Programs.
  • Knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters.
  • Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Knowledge of the military personnel automated system and office automation hardware, software, and peripherals. A qualified typist is not required.
  • Knowledge of format, content, and uses of the military personnel record and the procedures and requirements regarding its maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships.

Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: To accomplish routine tasks associated with the Customer Service Program and to perform a wide variety of both procedural and substantive clerical work supporting the military personnel programs, operations, or functions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0203 series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge and skill in applying a standardized body of military personnel rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to the military awards and decorations program, the military identification card program and resolve complex procedural and substantive problems.

OR EDUCATION

Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

A combination of specialized experience and education as described above. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to Customer Service Programs.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
