Job summary

SkyChefs in San Diego, CA, is seeking a bilingual Human Resources Assistant to join on-site. You will support recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, and HR compliance while maintaining confidential records and providing employee relations support.

The role requires 2–4 years in HR, strong knowledge of labor laws, and proficiency with MS Office. Excellent organization and communication skills are essential in a fast-paced environment with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of HR clerk experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state and county labor laws.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment withlarge groups and be flexible.

Responsibilities

• Review applications, conduct phone screens and set up interviews.
• Initiate background checks and drug screens.
• Assist with onboarding of new hires.
• Prepare weekly open positions reports.
• Support payroll, timekeeping processes.
• Track and administer leaves of absence.
• Maintain confidential HR records.
• Respond to employee inquiries and assist with workers' comp filings.
• Perform general administrative duties and recordkeeping.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Main Accountabilities

• Maintain accurate HR records and confidential personnel records
• Respond to employee inquiries
• Assist with handling employees Workers Compensation and Liability Reports
• Administrative duties and recordkeeping.
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience as HR clerk required
• General Knowledge with Federal, State and County Labor Laws
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, interact with all levels of management and maintain strict confidentiality
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
