Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems seeks an HR professional to act as a strategic partner, guiding managers and facilitating policy implementation at a DoD facility. You will respond quickly to customer needs, manage disability and FMLA processes, payroll adjustments, uniforms, and HRIS data entry while maintaining equitable policy application.

The role requires a Bachelor's in HRM/Business, 1+ year in HR, US citizenship, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with a unionized workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in HR
• Must be a US citizen and 18+
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to the facility via DoD vetting
• Strong written, verbal, and computer communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturing requirements
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and strong time-management skills
• Experience with unionized workforce preferred

Responsibilities of the position include the following:

Function as a strategic business partner/consultant to proactively assist customers in meeting their business objectives through effective management of Human Resources

Responsible for quickly assessing and responding to customer needs

Ensure the equitable and consistent application of the GDLS policies and practices and Collective Bargaining Agreements

Interpret policies and procedures and provide policy guidance in a consistent manner to managers and employees

Manage, assist with and administer processes for Short Term Disability, FMLA, pay adjustments, uniforms, various reports, pre-employment contingencies, HRIS data entry, and other duties/tasks as required

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or another related field

at least 1 years relevant experience in a Human Resource role

Must be at least 18 years of age and a UScitizen

Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the facility through the vetting process as administered by the Department of Army Police

Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills (written, verbal, computer)required

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a teaming environment with unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturingrequirements

Must be able to work independently or with minimum oversight to addressresponsibilities

Must have good time managementskills
