General Dynamics Land Systems in Ohio seeks an HR professional to partner with manufacturing teams as a strategic consultant, helping meet business objectives through effective HR management.
You will assess customer needs quickly, apply policies consistently, coordinate HR processes and data entry, and work with a unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities of the position include the following:
Function as a strategic business partner/consultant to proactively assist customers in meeting their business objectives through effective management of Human Resources
Responsible for quickly assessing and responding to customer needs
Ensure the equitable and consistent application of the GDLS policies and practices and Collective Bargaining Agreements
Interpret policies and procedures and provide policy guidance in a consistent manner to managers and employees
Manage, assist with and administer processes for Short Term Disability, FMLA, pay adjustments, uniforms, various reports, pre-employment contingencies, HRIS data entry, and other duties/tasks as required
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or another related field
at least 1 years relevant experience in a Human Resource role
Must be at least 18 years of age and a UScitizen
Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the facility through the vetting process as administered by the Department of Army Police
Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills (written, verbal, computer)required
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a teaming environment with unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturingrequirements
Must be able to work independently or with minimum oversight to addressresponsibilities
Must have good time managementskills
Experience with unionized workforce preferred
