Job summary

IBH Addiction Recovery in Coventry Township, OH, is seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Administrator to support HR operations and payroll processing in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

You will manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits enrollment, and compliance, coordinate with payors and the PEO, and ensure accurate compensation. A Bachelor’s in HR/Business or 3+ years of experience, plus ADP/TotalSource experience, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or related field OR 3+ years of experience in HR/Finance required.
  • Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • ADP Workforce Now and/or TotalSource experience preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications preferred.
  • Experience in addiction or mental health treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the pre-hiring process including updating job descriptions, posting positions, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews.

  • Manages bi-weekly payroll processing, investigates pay errors, and communicates payroll items to staff.

IBH Addiction Recovery, founded in 1970, is a highly effective nonprofit organization and leading provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment in Summit County. We provide evidence-based services including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, Outpatient Programs, Aftercare support, and Recovery Housing, complemented by spiritual guidance, all intended to offer persons with alcohol and drug addiction, including those with a co-occurring mental health disorder, the opportunity to restore hope and gain skills for a lifetime of sobriety. At IBH Addiction Recovery, we build our treatment philosophy around four core values: Dignity, Community, Stewardship (Outcomes), and Spirituality. We are seeking an organized and proactive Human Resources and Finance Administrator to help us meet the individualized needs of people in recovery and uphold those values.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources and Payroll Administrator supports the Human Resources department to achieve organizational success and efficiently compensate employees. This includes screening, interviewing, and hiring applicants for employment, administering payroll, benefits, and leave programs, and enforcing company policies and practices.

  • Coordinates the pre-hiring process by updating job descriptions, posting open positions on internal and external sites, monitoring applicants, working with hiring managers to screen candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Conducts interviews of applicants, participates in the selection of staff, and provides job offer letters to selected candidates that includes information on conditions of employment, pay, and intended start date.
  • Completes all necessary background checks including FBI/BCI checks, drug screening, federal exclusion checks, etc. and ensures the applicant is eligible to work for the agency according to Ohio Administrative Code and agency policies.
  • Oversees staff recruitment programs and serves as a partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in building strong bench strength for the organization.
  • Conducts onboarding process including new user registration, first day orientation, required document collection and filing, and assisting eligible employees in benefit enrollment including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k) plan.
  • Collects feedback from employees regarding the effectiveness of workplace programs, benefits, and services, and how they impact employee retention and morale.
  • Assists with the development of workplace and employment policies, programs, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, to include investigating pay errors and sending out notifications to staff regarding pay-related items.
  • Reconciles all benefit deduction statements with payroll, monthly benefit bills, Time and Attendance data, and various accruals.
  • Tracks and documents change in employee status including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, disability, etc.
  • May assist in completing needed reporting for federal, state, county, and local entities, including reports for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, etc.
  • Meets with PEO partner as needed to coordinate solutions surrounding the issues stemming from the personnel system.
  • Attends training/seminars/conferences as needed to continue growth of knowledge surrounding HR requirements, compliance, and systems.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field OR 3+ years of experience in Human Resources and/or Finance required.
  • ADP Workforce Now and/or TotalSource experience preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Certifications preferred.
  • Experience working in addiction or mental health treatment preferred.

Physical Demands

Considerable standing or sitting and infrequent walking. Lifts supplies/equipment up to 20 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8am – 4pm with flexibility as needed.

This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations within the agency so as the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Supervisory Responsibility

None.
