Job summary

Ingham Intermediate School District in Mason, MI, is seeking a Human Resources & Benefits Specialist to support HR programs and payroll and benefits administration.

The role will involve onboarding, compliance, benefits enrollments, and HRIS data accuracy, reporting to Suzy Corbin. A bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 2+ years HR/benefits experience are required; 5+ years can substitute for the degree. U.S. union context applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, labor relations, or related field.
• Five+ years in HR, payroll and benefits may substitute for a degree.
• Two years of HR and/or benefits administration experience.
• Experience with Tyler Technologies ERP and KRONOS is a plus.
• Working knowledge of applicable state/federal HR laws (e.g., FMLA).

• Assist with HR programs including benefits, leave, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, health and safety, and training and development.
• Oversee onboarding of new staff, including systems setup and coordination with hiring managers.
• Process benefit enrollments, including annual open enrollment; coordinate with vendors and ensure HRIS data accuracy.

The Human Resources & Benefits Specialist will assist with human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining records required to administer and in compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Assists with and executes human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, leave, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
• Oversees new staff onboardings including but not limited to set up of staff in all pertinent systems, ensuring compliance with all documentation, coordinating communication with hiring managers
• Processes benefit enrollments, including annual open enrollment. Works with benefits vendors to ensure benefits enrollments are accurate. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

• A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, labor relations or a related field. Five or more years of experience in Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits may be used in lieu of a degree. Professional human resources certification a plus.
• Two years of experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
• Experience with Enterprise ERP from Tyler Technologies and KRONOS is a plus.
• Working knowledge of FMLA laws for all states, STD, Child Support, benefit enrollment, Americans with Disabilities, and all federal and state laws
