San Bernardino County is seeking an Equal Employment Opportunity Analyst to investigate discrimination/harassment complaints, conduct in-depth interviews, gather data, prepare reports, and make informed recommendations. You will develop and present trainings on EEO laws and policies countywide.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional HR/EEO experience, with ideal candidates having 3+ years in EEO and strong knowledge of EEO laws.

Qualifications

• One year of full time professional-level human resources or EEO experience including responding to and investigating complaints.
• Ideal Candidate will possess three or more years of professional-level experience in equal employment opportunity with knowledge of state and federal EEO laws.

Duties will include responding to and investigating complaints of employment discrimination and harassment; conducting in-depth interviews, gathering and evaluating information, determining facts, preparing reports, and making recommendations; researching, interpreting, developing, and providing countywide presentations and trainings on relevant legislation, policies, and procedures; supporting the County's Equal Opportunity Commission; and making presentations to new employees, other formal bodies, and the public.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-employment Process

Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, credit check (if applicable), and/or medical exam, which may include drug and/or TB testing.

Travel

A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Education

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Science, Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Communications/Marketing or other relevant field.

Experience

One (1) year of full time professional-level human resources or EEO experience that includes primary responsibility for responding to and investigating complaints of employment discrimination and harassment. Experience must include conducting in-depth interviews, gathering and evaluating information, determining facts, preparing reports, and making recommendations.

Qualifying experience must be the primary duty and be clearly detailed in the Work Experience section of the application.

Ideal Candidate

Ideal Candidate will possess three (3) or more years of professional-level experience in equal employment opportunity.

• A clear understanding of state and federal EEO laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and at all levels of the organization.
• Experience developing and providing training programs on EEO laws and workplace diversity.
