Job description

Join to apply for the Human Resource Specialist role at Cabela's.

This position involves leading onsite HR initiatives supporting store leadership and Outfitters, including staffing, training, engagement, orientation, onboarding, and administrative tasks. The role also provides support to the General Manager with various administrative functions.

Essential Functions:
  1. Support excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  2. Represent the company culture to promote retention and a positive work environment.
  3. Assist with hiring and staffing for hourly Outfitters.
  4. Oversee training completion and monitoring for Outfitters.
  5. Handle employment actions in HRIS/Payroll/Scheduling systems.
  6. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  7. Coordinate associate recognition and other activities with the General Manager.
  8. Communicate HR policies and practices effectively.
  9. Ensure legal compliance and maintain records.
  10. Support performance management, reviews, and succession planning.
  11. Address first-level Outfitters issues and escalate as needed.
  12. Perform administrative duties, including processing invoices and managing expenses.
  13. Order and monitor store supplies.
  14. Coordinate travel arrangements for staff and leaders.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • 1-3 years of HR and administrative experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Additional Information:
  • May require infrequent travel.
  • Physical requirements include computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Performs tasks under supervision with some independent judgment.
