Human Resource Specialist

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist will lead onsite HR initiatives supporting leadership and Outfitters in the store in areas such as staffing, training, engagement, orientation, onboarding, and administrative excellence. Additionally, this role will assist the General Manager with administrative functions as needed.

Essential Functions:

  1. Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  2. Acts as a brand ambassador, representing the organization's culture to drive retention and foster a positive work environment within each department.
  3. Facilitates the hiring and staffing process for hourly Outfitters.
  4. Ensures completion and monitoring of training for location Outfitters.
  5. Processes and audits all employment actions in HRIS/Payroll/Scheduling systems for hourly Outfitters.
  6. Maintains confidentiality with all sensitive information.
  7. Assists with planning and implementing associate recognition and other activities in collaboration with the General Manager.
  8. Communicates HR policies, practices, and directions from the company.
  9. Maintains compliance and records (legal posters, notices, etc.).
  10. Provides guidance for performance management, annual reviews, and succession planning for hourly Outfitters.
  11. Responds to and resolves first-level Outfitters issues, partnering with Sr. HRM or Employee Relations for escalation as needed.
  12. Performs administrative duties as required.
  13. Processes invoices and manages expenses within Coupa.
  14. Orders and monitors store supplies.
  15. Coordinates travel for store Outfitters and leaders.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources and administrative/office roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze data and interpret reports.
  • Effective at establishing and maintaining working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements:

  • May require infrequent travel to support other stores and new store events.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular computer work, walking, sitting, and standing.

Independent Judgment:

  • Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some independent judgment for problem-solving and recommendations.
