Job description

Join our team as a Human Resources Manager, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our employee experience by overseeing benefits, compensation, and leave management. This role has the ability to be a remote position. Travel to the Home Office on a quarterly basis required for Management Team meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide overall leadership and guidance to HR function by overseeing compensation, benefits, and leave management.
  2. Administer employee healthcare benefits enrollment and management. Analyze company trends on benefits usage and cost for the organization. Provide benefit recommendations to Senior Leadership.
  3. Administer 401(k) plan including but not limited to participant education, internal audits, 5500 filing, vendor management, and 401(k) committee participation.
  4. Oversee third-party payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely processing which includes validation and reconciliation of bi-weekly and commission payrolls.
  5. Calculate monthly incentives for underwriters, closers, and other home office employees as needed.
  6. Manage merit increase process including setup within UKG, training to managers, Excel work for Senior Leadership, and validation of increases. Participate in compensation surveys and interpretation of data.
  7. Review commission structure of Employment Contracts for originating employees. Contracts are drafted and managed by Sr. Human Resources Generalist.
  8. Ability to answer questions related to Loan Originator compensation.
  9. Oversee year-end process, ensuring W-2 records are accurate and complete.
  10. Assist in payroll and benefit audit requests from internal and external auditors.
  11. Maintain training and SME around HRIS, Ultimate Software.
  12. Collaborate with Human Resources to manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes as they relate to payroll.
  13. Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed Federal and State laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management and employees accordingly.
  14. Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
  15. Manage and provide direction to subordinate staff in addition to supervision of direct report.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Complete any additional duties assigned by management.
  2. Complete regulatory and compliance training, as required.
  3. Assist WMC employees and departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Human Resources Manager provides leadership and supervision to direct and indirect Human Resources reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field; and a minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources Management is required. HR certification and knowledge of Loan Originator compensation is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of Excel is required. Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Products is required. Experience working with CompenSafe is preferred.

Individuals in this position shall not engage in loan origination during his/her employment with WMC. Loan origination is defined as (1) taking a residential mortgage loan application; or (2) offering or negotiating terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain; (3) advertising or communicating to the public that you can perform loan origination services.
