Qualifications

Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Position Summary

Southern Land Company, a national real estate development and construction firm headquartered in Nashville, TN, is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic team. The Human Resources Manager participates in the daily functions of the People & Culture (P&C) department including, but not limited to, the administration of HRIS, benefits, learning & development, general department practices, data integrity, reporting, and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. HRIS: Maintains compliance of employee personnel records. Responsible for analytics and reporting. Manages the setup and maintenance of systems. Acts as liaison between P&C and Payroll and supports managers and employees with training and documentation. Collaborates on new systems decisions and implementation. Seeks to enhance HRIS functionality for optimal use.
  2. Onboarding & Training: Reviews, delivers, tracks, and documents compliance with training and development activities, including new hire orientation, harassment training, performance management, and certifications. Manages the setup of learning systems and SharePoint. Designs initiatives to improve the employee experience.
  3. HR Programs: Administers benefits, recognition, wellness, job leveling, and other HR programs. Maintains related systems and advises managers and staff on program updates.
  4. Employee Relations: Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex issues to higher-level staff.
  5. Compliance: Ensures adherence to employment laws and regulations, maintains policies, and contributes to multi-state reporting such as EEO1.
  6. Office Management: Keeps abreast of HR trends and regulations. Analyzes data and prepares reports. Represents the P&C team and manages entry-level staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, act with integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Teamwork and independence skills, adaptability, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to learn HR systems.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 4-5 years of HR experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
