Job summary

Amcor is seeking an HR leader to drive strategy and daily execution at our Manchester, IA manufacturing facility. You will own day-to-day HR operations, align HR plans to plant goals, and ensure compliant, people-centered practices.

You will oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, performance, development, and retention; manage payroll/HRIS, drive continuous improvement, and coach managers on employee relations and change.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience delivering presentations and facilitating training for large groups.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate, reinforce, and apply employee relations principles and practices across the organization.
  • Interpret, administer, and maintain HR policies and procedures while aligning HR plans to business objectives.
  • Oversee key HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation administration, performance management, employee development, and retention.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate employee and leadership training programs.
  • Manage payroll processing and HRIS to support accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Track employment law and regulatory changes and ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
  • Coach managers and employees on employee relations, performance issues, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
  • Support organizational initiatives such as continuous improvement, workforce planning, affirmative action programs, integrations, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics; recommend improvements to strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Lead and participate in employee engagement activities, committees, and improvement teams.
  • Partner with plant leadership to address workforce challenges and support operational priorities.
