  • HR certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems including applicant tracking, benefits, performance management, time and attendance, and labor law compliance.
  • Minimum two years payroll processing experience; ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and improve processes using technology to increase efficiencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to listen, present information, and communicate professionally.

  • Oversee COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation programs; coordinate with Safety Manager.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget; perform additional duties as assigned; respond to inquiries.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Pay: $75K-79K Base

THE ROLE

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's vision and talent strategy.

Build trust and credibility with all employee groups to create a safe, supportive, and open workplace environment.

Demonstrate positive behaviors to create a workplace culture in support of the organization's core values.

Collaborate with the executive team to develop and understand the organization's goals and strategy.

Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, and initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy and support the organization's human resources compliance and strategy needs.

Administer or oversee human resources programs including compensation, benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, and training and development.

Provide advice and guidance on policy matters related to employee relations.

Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.

Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends, including review of reports and metrics from the organization's HRIS or talent management system.

Monitor, audit, and ensure HR and organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices and review or modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintain professional knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; communicate relevant changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

Conduct job analysis to ensure FLSA status and essential functions are documented accurately.

Provide compliance oversight of COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation programs.

Collaborate with the Safety Manager on the Workers' Compensation program.

Develop and implement the departmental budget.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

THE ESSENTIALS

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a relevant field; at least three (3+) years of HR generalist experience; or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.

Human Resources certification strongly preferred.

Proven experience with HRIS systems, including an understanding of applicant tracking, benefits and performance management, time and attendance, and labor law and compliance.

Minimum two (2) years of payroll processing experience. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

Ability to identify and improve processes using technology to increase efficiencies.

Proven critical thinker with the ability to solve problems, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions.

Approachable with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to listen effectively, present information, and communicate professionally both verbally and in writing while establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.

Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on attention to detail and follow-through.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of enthusiasm, professionalism, and motivation.

Ability to think strategically, demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy, and handle confidential information and situations appropriately.

Regular and reliable attendance; dependable and punctual.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to talk or hear, read computer screens, enter data into a computer, and operate basic office equipment.

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, kneel, bend or stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms to open cabinet drawers and file or retrieve information.

Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and reach, finger (pinch/pick), push, and pull cabinet drawers or doors to file or retrieve information.
