  • Hourly manufacturing recruiting in union environment is a plus.

Job description

Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist. This position is responsible for recruiting union and non-union positions. Guide applicants and managers through the recruiting process then stay connected to the employees throughout onboarding and socialization into the workforce. Serve as a human resources generalist and point of contact for employees and applicants with questions and concerns. You will also support administration of other HR programs as needed. Good communication skills (oral, print, and on-line) with all levels of employees are absolutely critical to this position.

Fundamental Job Tasks
Recruiting Tasks
  • Ensures adequate manufacturing/warehouse and office hourly staffing by assessing manager needs, executing the recruiting process and following up with candidates and managers.
  • Supports Office/Lab exempt staffing and recruiting process from posting to onboarding.
  • Write and posts ads, internally, on websites, social media, print and alternative sources.
  • Performs candidate screening including interviews, testing, background checks/confirmations, and drug tests.
  • Coordinates interviews and makes recommendations for part-time and full-time manufacturing/warehouse, maintenance and office/lab positions.
  • Coordinates approvals and communicates offer letters.
  • Stays updated on and develops new approaches to the recruitment process to find and attract qualified and diverse candidates for open positions and future opportunities through the most fruitful, relevant and valuable (yet cost effective) resources.
  • Ensures outstanding candidate experiences throughout the interview, offer, and onboarding process.
  • Positively represents HR and Franklin by finding opportunities for and coordinating recruitment events.
  • Responsible for the applicant and requisition tracking system.
  • May coordinate the temporary agency workforce.
  • Create and provide staffing status, turnover reports to HR Director
  • Provides benefits administration support
Generalist Tasks
  • Maintains high levels of customer (employees and recruits) satisfaction as a point of contact for human resource questions
  • Conducts investigations at the direction of the Director of Human Resources.
  • Answers HR questions based on law, contract and/or policy, and in ways which are consistent with Franklin’s Vision, Values and Goals. Properly refers issues to the appropriate resource.
  • Facilitates the HR portion of new hire orientation.
  • Stays current and well-versed on applicable laws and policies.
  • Provides follow-up service to ensure problem resolution.
  • Assists our social media efforts for current and prospective employees.
  • Assists with orientation and new hire follow-up and 30-60-90 reviews, monitors training progress.
  • Presents information to groups of employees in live, recorded video, or social media formats.
Knowledge and Skills

A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources preferred, with 4 to 6 years of HR and recruiting experience; or a BS in another field with 5 to 8 years of HR and recruiting experience. Hourly manufacturing recruiting experience in a union environment is a plus. Basic computer and Microsoft Office proficiency is required; experience with HRIS programs and use of applicant tracking systems is preferred. Must be extremely well organized and have outstanding writing and grammar skills. Incumbent must be able to work confidentially with sensitive information and be able to interact professionally with a variety of personalities in a variety of situations. PHR or SHRM-CP certifications are a plus.
